The following story was prepared by Portia and Tony Adkins (DR #14 and DR #13) and read at the 10th Anniversary Gathering on May 3rd, 2008.
43 Dan River Emmaus Walks Tell the Story
My life was without reason as I searched for the thing I felt was missing. I fell to my knees and cried, Change My Heart, O God. Please Holy Spirit Come into my life and Make Me A Servant of yours, oh please Settle on My Soul Sweet Jesus. And Come Lord Jesus is what He did, He Touched Me and filled me with His Amazing Love and Amazing Grace. I prayed, All to Jesus I Surrender, then He spoke to my heart, saying, My Peace I Give To You and now I know that His Banner Over Me is Love. Day By Day as On Christ the Solid Rock I Stand, I Give Thanks for now I have Victory in Jesus. As I Worship and Bow Down and I Cling to the Cross I know that it was Only By His Grace, that is was only by being In The Potter's Hand that He gave my life Beauty for Ashes. It was In His Time, that I was drawn to Be Still and Know that Lord, There Is None Like You. Oh Praise Him, How Great Is Our God, Lord you are that precious Pearl of Great Price, only you Father can Fill My Cup. You give us all A Hope and A Future, we pray Father that forever you will Find Us Faithful. I pray Come Holy Spirit and continue to Renew My Heart, Lord. For Such A Time As This you call us to Go Light Your World, teach us your wisdom to be Jesus To The World, so that we will for You be able to Shine Jesus Shine. It's so amazing that it all began one quiet and O Holy Night, Our Savior Was Born. From that moment every where Jesus walked was Holy Ground. It became evident in His sermons that He was the Son of God, and the people knew from His compassion that Jesus, Your Love Is Life. We must Come, Now Is the Time To Worship, we must Shout For Joy to The Lord, for He Is Here, My Redeemer Lives. We must share His love and compassion with others, we must daily praise Him and say Lord, I Offer You My Life for our lives are not about us, It's All About Him.
